We woke up bright and early for day #2 of USA Luge screening camp and headed to Mt Van Hoevenberg.
We started the day doing some start training and learning how to position and use our bodies for the fastest starts. Here is a quick video of me practicing my starts…
After start training we headed up to the track. Today I could tell my speed was picking up and my control of the sled was getting better! Luge is so fun!
This is a video of one of my three runs from the day…
And then my Dad was out on top of the bridge to the chicanes and recorded me whizzing by. Check out how fast I was going! I like that the ladies out on the track said my run was “Pretty!”. 🙂
After training I was exhausted and sore! I got a shower, had dinner, and then just relaxed with my phone and an ice pack trying to recover because I knew the next day was going to be just as challenging!
