Exploring Lake Placid, NY

We had one day to explore Lake Placid and recover from the long drive before training and the screening camp starts, so we decided to do some sight seeing.

After breakfast Stephanie and her sisters ventured out to the steep icy stairs behind our rental cabin that made their way down to the frozen Ausable River.

We then ventured down to town to see where she would be training the next day, Mount Van Hoevenberg. Mount Van Hoevenberg was the site of the 1932 and 1980 Olympic games.

We then walked down the streets of Lake Placid and visited a few of the shops. On our walk we saw a dog sled team on Mirror Lake.

Tomorrow is the big day! Back to the cabin to get a good dinner and some rest!
